Marinated Shiso (Perilla) Leaves

My Green Shiso (Perilla) plants have been growing very well this summer. It’s hard to keep up eating the fragrant leaves, because I am the only one who wants to eat them. I looked for a new way to enjoy Shiso leaves, and found that many people marinate them in Soy Sauce. I instantly thought about adding the delicious Crispy Chilli Oil to it. Today I marinated 12 leaves and they were yummy. I ate all of them for myself with freshly cooked Rice.

Steps
- 1
Combine all the Marinade ingredients in a small container.
- 2
Wash Shiso leaves and add to the marinade, one at a time. Place one leaf and spread some marinade over it, then place another leaf, and repeat. You can marinate as many leaves as you can.
- 3
Enjoy with freshly cooked Rice. It would be great for drinking, too.
