Ingredients

30-40 minutes
3-4 people
  1. For making masala :-
  2. 250 gmhara chana
  3. 2onion cut into thin slices
  4. 2tomatoes roughly chopped
  5. 2-3green chillies
  6. 1 tspginger paste
  7. 1 tspgarlic paste
  8. 3 tbspcurd
  9. 1 tspred Chilli powder
  10. Salt to taste
  11. 1 tsphomemade biryani masala
  12. 1 tspcumin seeds, 1bay leaf, 2 green cardamom, 1 black cardamom
  13. 2cloves, 4-5 pepper corns, 1 small piece mace, 1/4 piece nutmeg
  14. 1/4 cupoil
  15. For rice :-
  16. 500 gmbasmati rice(rinse and soaked into water for 30 minutes)
  17. 2 tspsalt or as to taste
  18. 2bay leaf, 1 inch cinnamon, 2 cloves, 1 tsp fennel seeds
  19. 1 tspoil

Steps

30-40 minutes
  1. 1

    In a pressure cooker add whole spices saute few seconds,add chopped onion saute until they turn golden brown. Then add green Chana,ginger garlic paste and saute for 1 minute. Add chopped tomatoes,green chillies red Chilli powder and salt.

    Cook on high flame for 3-4 minutes when oil release add 1 cup water and cover the lid and pressure cook for 2 whistle.
    Meanwhile take soaked rice in a wok add 4 cups water add salt,1 inch cinnamon, green chillies, bay leaf and fennel seeds. Add 1 tsp oil and bring it to boil.cook the rice 80% and drain the water. Keep it aside.

    Now open the cooker. Add curd and biryani masala and mix well cook for a minute. Take a wok in which biryani had cooked. Add half quantity of cooked green Chana then add half rice and spread evenly to make a layer.repeat the same process again.

    Now add orange food colour and kewra water.cover and cook on simmer for 5-6 minutes. Switch off the flame.leave it for 5-6 minutes on standing time.then open and mix gently.serve with salad and curd.
