Catla Catla Fried Fish

Catla or South Indian Carp is a freshwater Fish widely found in rivers of North India and Assam. It's enriched with Proteins and Vitamins. Low in calories and therefore is a healthy option for the weight watchers.
It's not as big as Rohu but is still preferable and loved by many.
It's low in saturated Fats too. Tasty and also a healthy option for many.
A simple fry on any day alongside plain boiled Rice and Daal makes it a great idea for the mealtimes with both family and friends.
This version is also a very simple one but deep fried unlike pan fried or baked. Though it can be done in any way which you would prefer for yourselves.
A complete meal by all means, this Catla Fish fry is a perfect option for the special weekend menu as well.

Steps
- 1
Clean the fish well and keep aside. Marinate it with all the masalas as mentioned and keep aside for an hour or two at the least. But it will be much better if it is marinated and kept refrigerated overnight.
- 2
Deep fry them on a medium high to high heat until crisp and done. All the spices can be adjusted accordingly. Serve them piping hot alongside a steaming plate of plain boiled Rice and Hyderabadi Khatti Daal. Yum!

TIP- It's always highly recommended by me to wash and clean the Fish regardless of it's variety and marinate it with one's own choice of spices and masalas. Store in airtight containers in nos of 1's, 2's, 3's etc. This way it stays fresh for a long time and also retains it's flavours. When required to fry, take it out much ahead of time so that it gets ample amount of time to thaw on it's own.
