Escarole and Beans Escarole and Beans
This recipe has been passed down from my Grandma to my pops and then to me. But they never wrote it down, you basically learned to make this dish by watching them cook. Things, such as sausage, crushed red pepper, may be added, but this is a great dish as is.Finally, it is neither soup, nor stew. It is pretty much in between. The spices are an estimate, add to suit your own tastes. #mycookbookEnjoy! J.A.B. -
Black Beans Black Beans
Black beans one of the most versatile bean next to chickpeas on the planet, well I think so anyhow..... just saying!!! Lol By the way you may ask why summer savory? Well it just so happens that it is an anti-gas herb so if you don't want the embarrassing problems of gas, just add summer savory it helps out a bunch. skunkmonkey101 -

Mock Shiruko! With Kidney Beans Mock Shiruko! With Kidney Beans
I had some shiratamako anyway so I decided to make some instant shiruko out of kidney beans to go with it.Making anko from adzuki beans usually takes around a day so the flavour of this shiruko is a bit different. But on the other hand it has a less characteristic flavor that may be easier for shiruko novices to enjoy. This is mock shiruko so I only added a little bit of sugar.I blended my kidney beans in the food processor until they were still a little lumpy.
