Lentil and Chicken Burger

No flour or breadcrumbs!
These burgers are super high in protein and delicious—perfect for meals or as a post-workout option for those who go to the gym or play sports. Plus, it's a great way to add lentils to your diet if you have trouble eating them (like my grandma 🙂), and another way to prepare everyday chicken 😑.

These burgers are super high in protein and delicious—perfect for meals or as a post-workout option for those who go to the gym or play sports. Plus, it's a great way to add lentils to your diet if you have trouble eating them (like my grandma 🙂), and another way to prepare everyday chicken 😑.

Soak the lentils for 10 to 12 hours.

Boil the chicken thighs and shred the meat.

Use a meat grinder or food processor (a powerful blender works too) to process the soaked lentils and shredded chicken.

Mix the ground lentils and chicken with a fork. Add the chopped onion and bell pepper, cumin, oregano, black pepper, and salt to taste. Add the beaten egg and continue mixing with a fork. If needed, add a little chicken broth.

Shape the mixture into burgers and cook them in a lightly oiled skillet or on a griddle.
Note: If you’re not eating them right away, you can freeze them 😋
