I have prepared a modak-shaped cake on Ganesh Chaturthi as well as my birthday cake. Feeling blessed as a birthday falls on one of the biggest festivals.

Sieve all dry ingredients

Transfer in a bowl

Add oil and butter

Gradually add milk

Whisk with a hand whisk

Add vanilla extract

Make the consistency of cake batter

Transfer in a greased mould

Bake for 30min on 180degrees in preheated oven

De-mould after cooling

Whip cream with an electric beater till soft peak

Add cream cheese

Beat again

Divide the cake into 5 slices

Place one on another slice and fill cream in between layers

Give shape of the modak

Give the glaze effect by adding orange food gel colour in the neutral glaze

Apply all over the cake

Decorate the cake with glitter
