Everyone in the family will love this tasty beef and vegetable pie with a golden pastry topping.

Brown meat in oil and add onion.

Mix oxtail soup powder and 400 ml water and add to the meat and onions.

Cover and gently simmer for about 45 minutes until the meat is tender.

Add the vegetables and simmer for an extra 15 minutes.

Season to taste.

Pour into a pie dish and allow to cool.

Roll out the pastry and cover the pie dish.

Trim the edges and cut 2 slits in the centre of the pie to allow the steam to escape.

Brush with beaten egg and bake at 220°C for 15 - 20 minutes.
