Tea time we all need something to munch. Since Diwali got over one of the most popular snack can be Jeera Puri. This crispy puri is filled with flavors of roasted jeera and can be made in big batch and store it at least for a week in a air tight container.

Enjoy these Puri with chai or coffee. Please note the recipe uses some amount of Maida. In case you follow strict diet then avoid Maida. But addition of Maida and Rava makes it more khasta and yummy.

Steps

40 mins
  1. 1

On a Tawa put 1.5 teaspoon of jeera and roast for 3 to 4 mins till you get nice aroma

  2. 2

In a big bowl add 1/4th cup or 4 tablespoon each of Maida and Wheat flour, 1 tablespoon of Rava, 1.5 teaspoon of roasted jeera, salt to taste, 1.5 tablespoon of ghee.

  3. 3

Once you add the ghee mix the flour gently just like you do while make Samosa cover. Once the flour and ghee binds in your hands together add water and prepare semi- stiff dough. Don't make the soft dough or else you will find it difficult to roll the puri.

  4. 4

Make small size puri of the dough and prick them with a fork. Pricking with the fork is necessary so the Puri will remain flat.

  5. 5

Heat the oil and fry the Puri on a medium flame. Please note you can make the Puri dark but we have fried them little less to make it smooth along with crispy.

  6. 6

If you fry them a little longer till it becomes brown then the Puri will turn crispy.

  7. 7

Cool down the Puri and store them in a Air tight container for a week.
    Enjoy with Chai or Coffee
