Khatta meetha dahi vada

This khatta meetha dahi vada is very popular North Indian Street food fare. This is considered as a great starter.
Basically dahi vadas are lentils based Savory balls which are smothered with yogurt and sprinkleed some cumin red chilli powder, black salt, chaat masala and topping with some grated carrot and pomegranate seeds and tangy sweet tamarind chutney.

This khatta meetha dahi vada is very popular North Indian Street food fare. This is considered as a great starter.

Steps

Finely grind the soaked lentil. Transfer to a bowl and add finely chopped green chilli and some cumin seeds, salt. Mix well. Keep aside for 10 minutes by covering it. Then in a deep frying pan add oil and heat.

Take a small amount of lentil batter in your palm and shape in to a vada. Deep fry in medium flame. Follow the above process to make more vadas. Cook until vadas become light golden brown. Then in a deep bowl add like warm water (4cups) add 1-2 pinch of hing. Mix well. Then after frying vadas put them in that Lukewarm water for 2 mins. The slightly squeeze the vadas by using your two palms. Then keep them in a plate.

Next in a large bowl add yogurt, add salt, add sugar. Mix well. Then add the vadas in to it. Mix well carefully. Keep it aside for 1/2n hr.

Now transfer them to a serving plate or bowl. Sprinkle some cumin dry red chilli powder, chaat masala. Sweet and tangy tamarind chutney, black salt.

Garnish with some chopped coriander leaves, some pomegranate seeds, some grated carrot. Serve it.
