Lots of cooking apples from the garden means only one thing - apple crumble. I made 3 and froze them uncooked ready for those winter nights.

Lots of cooking apples from the garden means only one thing - apple crumble. I made 3 and froze them uncooked ready for those winter nights.
Steps

Peel the apples & slice, discarding the core

Layer on the bottom of a baking dish & sprinkle with 2 tbsps of sugar

Add some (frozen) berries (optional)

Mix the flour & sugar
- 5
Cut the butter into pieces and mix into the flour & sugar using fingers to crumble it up.

Add the cinnamon if desired

Add the mixture on top of the apples & spread out so all the fruit is covered.

Bake at 190C for 30-40 minutes until the apples are soft & the topping is golden brown
