Mix all ingredients in a a heavy-bottomed saucepan. Bring to a boil; then, adjust heat to a simmer and cook about 45 min.

Occasionally, stir the bottom surface of the saucepan to keep anything from burning and sticking to it.

Remove from heat and let cool in room temperature. You can skip the remaining steps if you prefer to use it right away.

Transfer to a clean container with lid. Chill in the refrigerator to rest over 12 hours; the taste becomes more deep and flavourful.
