Measure out your spices (Ehuru, uda, uziza and ose oji)

Lightly toast the ehuru, uda and uziza to make it easier to pound or blend

Blend or pound the toasted spices together with the alligator pepper till powdered

Bring your proteins to boil, seasoning with salt, pepper and the spice blend

Once it comes to a rolling boil and your proteins are ready, add the yam or plantains and boil till soft
