This is an Indian spicy and mind-blowing drink, popular in the Himalayan valley region known as Kashmiri Kavha This Kashmiri Kavha is boiled with various spices alongwith cinnamon, cardamom and saffron. Honey or sugar is also being added to the Boiled Kavha. The drink is being prepared in a traditionally used brass Surahidar Pot, called a Samovar. Just one cup, increases our strength and its sweet aroma leaves makes the mind blossom and happy.

Ingredients

  • 6nos Black peppers
  • 5nos Cloves
  • 2nos Cinnamon pieces
  • 4nos Cardamom
  • 4-6nos Saffron
  • 6-8nos Tulsi
  • 1 tbspAjwiane
  • 1Lemon juice
  • 1 tspHoney
  • 1 pieceGinger
  • 2 glasseswater
  • as requiredSalt to taste

Steps

15 Minutes
  1. 1

    In mortar, add cinnamon, cloves, black pepper, cardamom, ginger and tulsi leaves.

    Heat the water in a pan. Once the water boils, add all the ground spices, salt, saffron, ajwain, mix all well and let it boil again.

    Turn off the gas after 15 minutes, strain the kahva through a strainer, then add lemon juice, honey and stir with a spoon.

    So, Hot Kashmiri Kahwa is ready.

    Pour it into a serving glass and serve hot.
