Ingredients

30 minutes
3 servings
  • 2 cupsJeera Rice (parboiled)
  • 1/2 cupfresh green peas
  • 1 tbspcoriander (cilantro)
  • 2green chillies chopped finely
  • 1.5 tspjeera / cumin seeds
  • 1bay leaf
  • 3 tbspghee (clarified butter)
  • As neededsalt to taste

Steps

30 minutes
  1. 1

    Parboil 250 gms rice with 1/2 tsp salt and 4 cups water.When it is 80% cooked add some cold water and strain it.Set aside to cool. Heat ghee in a wok and sprinkle cumin seeds and bay leaf.When they splutter add boiled green peas and toss.

    Now add the cooked rice, salt to taste and chopped coriander. Mix all and keep frying for 2 minutes.Sprinkle 1 tsp more ghee and toss.

    Green Peas Jeera Rice is now ready to be served with any curry of choice or dal tadka and raita.
