Chinese New Year's cake

Nian Gao (níangāo), rice cake, annual cake or Chinese New Year cake is a dish made from glutinous rice to be consumed in Chinese cuisine. Kanom kheng can be found in Asian supermarkets. Although Khanom Kheng can be eaten all year but it's most popular during Chinese New Year. People like to eat Khanom Kheng during this time because the word Nien Gao sounds like the word for rising year in Chinese.

Mix Glutenous flour, arrowroot flour, salt and sugar. Knead the mix flour with pandan juice by gradually adding pandan juice. After that cover for 1 hour. Add dried longan, white sesame and young coconut meat whisk to combine well.

Scoop into the banana leaf krathong. Bring to steam 25-30 minutes. Allow them to cool down. Ready to enjoy.
