Chicken Dish: Teflon Taichan Satay

The difference between taichan satay and regular satay is that the chicken is already seasoned. It is served without peanut sauce like regular satay, but with a sambal that tends to have a sour taste. This recipe is a mix and match from several websites. I use toothpicks because it's for my child's lunch.

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Wash the chicken, then cut it into cubes.
- 2
Coat the chicken with lime juice, salt, sesame oil, chicken bouillon powder, minced garlic, salt, and ground pepper. Marinate for 15-30 minutes. The longer you marinate, the more flavorful it will be.
- 3
After marinating, skewer the chicken onto skewers or toothpicks until all pieces are used.
- 4
Heat a non-stick pan, lightly grease with cooking oil, grill the satay, and turn occasionally to cook evenly.
- 5
For the sambal, blend all ingredients except the kaffir lime leaves. Then cook with the kaffir lime leaves until the water reduces. Taste and adjust seasoning.

Sweet satay (sate manis) Sweet satay (sate manis)
sate in Indonesian spelling, is a Southeast Asian dish of seasoned, skewered and grilled meat, served with a sauce. It is a dish from Indonesia; and popular in Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand.Satay may consist of diced or sliced chicken, goat, mutton, beef, pork, fish, other meats, or tofu; the more authentic version uses skewers from the midrib of the coconut palm frond, although bamboo skewers are often used. These are grilled or barbecued over a wood or charcoal fire, then served with various spicy seasonings. Satay can be served in various sauces, however most often they are served in a combination of soy and peanut sauce. Hence, peanut sauce is often called satay sauce. Kezia's Kitchen 👩🍳 -
Mini Sate Maranggi -- Marinated Indonesian Satay Mini Sate Maranggi -- Marinated Indonesian Satay
This satay is one of traditional dishes in West Java province. Usually, other satays use peanut sauce. Since the meat is marinated for at least an hour (overnight, in my case), this kind of satay is already savory. Usually we eat this with sambal and acar tomat (pickled tomatoes) and steamed rice. I like to use mini skewers for this one, but of course you can use regular-sized skewers. You can grill this satay but you can also cook sate maranggi in a pan. This is my version of sate maranggi. I had this in Bali! Satay! Indonesian Yakitori I had this in Bali! Satay! Indonesian Yakitori
I was wondering what type of dish would go well with the nasi goreng (Indonesian fried rice) that I had made and then I thought of this satay! The marinade and dipping sauce are all approximate amounts, so adjust the richness and whatnot to suit your tastes! The ingredients can be found at the import store 'Kaldi.' There really aren't any special tips. Just marinate well before grilling! If you don't have a yakitori grill, you can use a fish grill or a regular grill, or even the frying pan! For 2 servings. Coconut Curry Chicken Satay Coconut Curry Chicken Satay
Satay (or sate) is basically your generally Southeast Asian grilled skewer or kabob, prepared in a variety of ways throughout the region, and often served with a dipping sauce on the side.I pulled my influences from Thai and Vietnamese cuisines to come up with this version which includes a little coconut milk in the marinade, which can either help chicken breast meat retain moisture or soften the slightly stronger and gamier flavor of dark meat, depending on which you use. Now, you will not hear me talking about the upsides of chicken breast meat too often, but one upside of using breast meat in this application is that it cooks very quickly, and when you have lots of skewers to cook for a crowd, it speeds up the cooking time by about a third. This recipe serves 8 to 10 as appetizers (about 30 skewers) and is easily halved. x -
