Ingredients

  1. For rice
  2. 2 cupscooked short grain rice
  3. As Per TasteSalt
  4. 1 cupcurd
  5. 2 tablespoonspomegranate arils(optional)
  6. For Tempering
  7. 1 teaspoonmustard seeds
  8. 1Green chili cut into small pieces
  9. 1 sprigcurry leaves
  10. 1 teaspoonsplit urad dal
  11. 2dried red chilies
  12. 2 tablespoonsvegetable oil

  1. 1

    Lightly mash the rice with your hands and add the salt and curd. Combine well. If the curd is thick add a few tablespoon of water to adjust the consistency

  2. 2

    Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds allowing them to splutter.

  3. 3

    Then add green chili and curry leaves. Fry until the chili and leaves start to change color.

  4. 4

    Add urad dal, and red chili. Fry for 10-15 seconds. Until urad dal turns toasty brown

  5. 5

    Add the tempering to the rice mixed with curd.

  6. 6

    Add pomegranate arils and mix well. Serve with pickle(optional)
