Boil the peas for 2 minutes, drain, & cover with 2" water, sit for 4 hours minimum

Drain & just cover the peas with water, add garlic powder, salt, bouillon, & Cayenne. Bring to a low boil & let barely bubble for an hour

Saute the onion in bacon fat until just tender & add to peas

Turn heat up to medium-low & cook until peas are tender to preference, check seasoning

After they're added to your meal, they can be frozen! I pour them into Styrofoam cups to freeze dinner portions & easy defrosts.
