Nostalgic School Lunch Meat Sauce

I loved the meat sauce served for my school lunch.
The meat sauce we learned how to make in middle school cooking class was actually this flavor!
After getting married, I made this for my husband and he loved it, so I continue to make this even now.
I make this in 10 times the listed amount and store it in the freezer.

When reheating large batches from the freezer; I think it's a good idea to add a bit of ketchup when simmering it. I froze about 5 ladles' worth, then added about two good squeezes of ketchup. For 1 serving. Recipe by ***yuu***

Steps

  1. 1

    Mince the onion and carrot.

  2. 2

Cook the onion and carrot in butter, then add the ground meat and cook until the meat changes color. Sprinkle in the flour and cook well.

  3. 3

Add the water and tomato ketchup, and simmer for 10-15 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix every now and then to keep it from burning.

  4. 4

I originally listed 7g of flour, but that's difficult to understand so I changed it to 1 tablespoon. Although honestly, 1 tablespoon is 8g, but it's no problem at all.
