Karachi Haleem

Tasty Haleem is available in many corners of our Metropolitan city Karachi. I have very fond memories as a child when haleem was made whole night in huge amount and whole family was involved in making than next day its served hot to guests,friends and neighbours still now this tradition of sharing joy is carried in many homes.
. A delicious blend of beef with lentils and aromantic spices results in this delicacy.Alot of patience is required in making haleem with love and care.
I shared haleem recipe before with homemade masalay. This haleem is made with Shan shahi haleem mix packet.

Steps

Soak the daalen, Gandum and jao in water for 4-6 hours.

Heat oil /ghee add beef and bones in it and fry for for a few mins than add haleem masala in it and fry.

Add soaked pulses and grains in it. Add 12 cups Water in it and cook covered on low flame for hrs or until meat and grains are done completely. Stirr in between.

Remove bones from it and discard them.
Blend mixture into a coarse paste with wooden spoon or blender but don't make it fine it should be coarse. - 5
Now again on the flame add 2 cups hot water in haleem and mix. Cook on low flame for 20_30 mins.

Heat oil /ghee and fry 1 sliced onion. When it turns brown, pour over cooked haleem and close lid and cook on low flame for 20_30 mins also add garam masala in it.

For garnish make brown pyaz /onions.
Heat oil add finely sliced onions and cook till brown and crispy, keep stirring. Take them out and keep tossing them till cooled. - 8
When haleem is ready
Serve with brown onions, chopped green chillies, chopped dhania /Podina and finely sliced ginger. Lemon wedges,garam masala and chat masala.
