Cashew milk and oat milk

Dawnann68s
Dawnann68s @dawnann68s

Cashew in the cup made from about 10 raw Cashew nuts with water and in the jar is oat milk from 2 tbsp of oats with water.
The cashew tastes so creamy and the oat a little bit creamy but both are low in fats. For tea you don't need to add very much and you can make this daily and use or bottle it and keep in fridge.
I sterilised the bottle by boiling on a pan and the cup was a fresh bought plastic cup.
Very easy to do.

Steps

2 hrs waiting
  1. 1

    Oat milk

  2. 2

Put oats and water in a bowl or jug and let soak for 2 hrs.

  3. 3

After 2 hrs put in a blender you can add more water.
The recipe says to change the water it was soaked in I didn't and it tastes just fine for us.
Now you strain the oats, I used a fine strainer others will use a straining cloth. You can sieve a second time if you want.

  4. 4

If you want flavour milk you can add vanilla or cinnamon, I opted for plain.

  5. 5

In your sterilise containers add the milk and chill.
    Enjoy 😊

  6. 6

    Cashew milk 🥛

  7. 7

I soaked the nuts I about 200 ml water for 2 hrs,
Then did exactly the same as the oats and blitz and added more water when necessary.
I only have hand held blender stick so it was a little harder, but it was okay. Once strained I boiled this one for 2 minutes then let it cool and put in preferred container.

  8. 8

Once I boiled it, it became creamier.
There both chilled and taste great in my tea and in my homemade chicken soup.

  9. 9

I might try and make some cashew butter spread.
