These are delicious 😋 made yesterday all gone and have been asked to make some more today.
Steps
- 1
Put flour and butter in bowl and rub in with hands.
- 2
Then add the yeast sugar and salt. And mixed spices or cinnamon.and stir.
- 3
Then make a well and add egg and stir in.
Boil the milk for 2 minutes let it cool for 2 minutes then make a well in the centre of the flour, add the warm milk and with a metal spoon mix until it forms a dough add little flour if sticky. - 4
Next step lay flour out on board and knead it then roll out and in the centre fill with currants, I used bag of mixed fruit it has orange bits in.
- 5
With the letter folding method fold it in to each other then in a bowl leave to rise for 1 hour and half.
- 6
When risen pull off or slice of pieces and form a bun shape and leave to rise for another hour.
Because I cooked them in the airfryer I placed them in there to rise on the reheat setting which is 49 c set for 1 hour.
Then when there ready to bake, I set to bake on 168 c for 15 minutes.
Before cooking you can glaze the tops with apricot jam I used strawberry.
Get baking these and enjoy ☺️ perfect to toast in airfryer. - 7
Spread on some meridian chocca spread plant based. Delicious 😋😋
