  3. 1 3/4 cupsugar
  4. 3/4 cupunsweetened cocoa powder
  5. 2 tsp.baking soda
  6. 1 tsp.baking powder
  7. 1 tsp.salt
  8. 1/2 cupvegetable oil
  9. 2large eggs
  10. 3/4 cupsour cream
  11. 1/2 cupbuttermilk
  12. 2 tsp.vanilla extract
  13. 1/3 cupboiling water
  14. 3/4 cupmilk chocolate chips
  15. Chocolate Ganache:
  16. 1/2 cupheavy cream
  17. 4 oz.semi-sweet baking bar

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a bundt pan and set it aside. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Set it aside. In a separate bowl, whisk together the oil, eggs, sour cream, buttermilk and vanilla.

  2. 2

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and pour in the boiling water. Mix until everything is just combined. Then fold in the chocolate chips. Pour the batter evenly into the bundt pan and bake for 45-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out mostly clean (a few moist crumbs). Let it cool for 10-15 minutes, then invert the cake onto a cooling rack to cool completely.

  3. 3

Once it's cool, you can make the ganache. Chop the chocolate up and place it in a medium, heatproof bowl. In a small saucepan, heat the cream over med-high heat until it comes to a low simmer. Once it does, pour the cream over the chocolate and stir until the chocolate is fully melted and the mixture is smooth. Let this cool for 20 or so minutes, then pour over the top of the cake.

I love to bake and to try out new recipes! I'm always on the lookout for simple dinners for busy weeknights. A lot of the recipes I post on here are ones I've found on Pinterest or from different bloggers, and that I've tried and really enjoyed, but I always reference to where I got the recipe from in the recipe description and the pictures are my own. If there's no source listed, then it's a rare recipe that I came up with. I have two wonderful kids and I hope to pass on my love of cooking and baking to them.
