Simple! Delicious! How to Boil Edamame

I learned this from my dad.
One cup water should suffice regardless whether or not you increase or decrease the amount of edamame used.
You don't have to watch the pot if you set a timer. Easy-peasy.
If you're worried about the amount of water used in step 2, the reduce to medium once it starts to steam. Make sure not to remove the lid.
It should begin to boil 5 minutes after. Recipe by Tanakake

Steps
- 1
Thoroughly wash the edamame, place into a sieve, and shake off the water. Put the edamame into a pot along with the water, and cover with a lid.
- 2
Turn the heat on and cook on high for 5 minutes. Don't remove the lid. They will be steamed in this step. It's convenient to use a timer if you have one.
- 3
Drain in a sieve after 5 minutes have passed. Don't run them under cold water. Sprinkle with salt, and the edamame's ready.
- 4
The firmness of edamame after boiling seems to vary by the kind. Please try it out once at 5 minutes and check how long it needs.
- 5
These are great if you remove the thin skins! Takuchan's recipe. Edamame is very delicious.
