  • 3 tbspgram dal besan
  • 1 tbspRice flour
  • 1/2 tspsalt
  • 1/2 tspTurmeric powder
  • 1 tspChili powder
  • 1 pinchasafoetida
  • 1/4 tspBaking powder
  • 1 tbspmustard oil for moyan
  • 1 cupRefined oil for frying
  • water as required

    Peel the skin of onions. Cut into thin slices.

    In a bowl, take all the ingredients and mix well. Add water slowly to make batter of medium thick consistency. Keep it aside for 5mins. Add onion slices.

    Mix onion with the batter. Heat oil in a kadhai. Add batter with onion slices into the hot oil. Fry both sides till golden brown.

    Collect in a serving plate and serve with hot tea or coffee.
