Ingredients

10 minutes
2 people, 1 cup
  1. Make fresh yellow mustard:
  2. 4 Tbsmustard powder
  3. 2 Tbsbalsamic vinegar
  4. 1 Tbswarm water
  5. 1 Tbsturmeric
  6. 1 Tspseasalt
  7. Make the BBQ sauce:
  8. 4 ozfreshly made yellow mustard
  9. 4 ozbalsamic vinegar
  10. 2 ozlight Brown sugar
  11. 1 TbsHoney
  12. PinchGarlic powder
  13. PinchOnion powder
  14. PinchCayenne pepper
  15. PinchFresh black Pepper
  16. Equipment: cast iron sauce pan, one cup size mason jar with lid
  17. Cost: yellow mustard 60 cents, vinegar 30 cents, other 10 cents, $1 per cup

Cooking Instructions

    Make fresh yellow mustard. Mix turmeric and salt in warm water, stir, add vinegar, stir till smooth, whisk in mustard powder, let rest while preparing the BBQ sauce.

    Make the BBQ sauce. Bring vinegar to boil, dissolve spices and sugar, add honey, add fresh mustard, boil till thick, ready.

    Grill the meat with the BBQ sauce: i grilled pork ribs 10 minutes on each side in a dry cast iron skillet, brushed them with the barbecue sauce. Finished them in a 350 degree oven, half an hour. Delicious, tender, tangy and juicy.
