Matar Paneer is a dish that's made for every occasion. Whether it's a wedding, birthday party, or any celebration big or small, it always finds a place on our menu.
Steps
- 1
First, blend the tomatoes, ginger, and green chili into a paste. Cut the paneer into cubes and fry them until golden brown.
- 2
Heat 5-6 tablespoons oil in a large skillet. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle. Once they crackle, add asafoetida and bay leaves. Add the tomato paste and sauté for 3-4 minutes. After a few minutes, add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and garam masala powder. Sauté for another 5 minutes.
- 3
After the spices are cooked, add cream, tomato ketchup, and dried fenugreek leaves. Sauté for another 3-4 minutes. Once the masala is well cooked, add the boiled green peas and sauté for 1 minute.
- 4
Add the fried paneer cubes, salt to taste, and water as needed. Cover and cook for 5 minutes.
- 5
Once the curry is cooked, add chopped cilantro. Your Matar Paneer is ready to serve. Enjoy it with rice, naan, poori, roti, or paratha.
