Fried onions is an essential ingredient used atop biryani. They are very flavorful & have a nice golden brown appearance. It tastes is a little on the sweeter side & used specially in Moghlai dishes.

Fried onions is an essential ingredient used atop biryani. They are very flavorful & have a nice golden brown appearance. It tastes is a little on the sweeter side & used specially in Moghlai dishes.

Steps

Peel the onion. Wash them & wipe them. Slice them very thinly with a slicer.

Sprinkle salt on them & allow it to rest for 10 minutes.Than squeeze out the extra water by pressing them with both your hands. Separate the onions.

Heat oil in a pan. Deep fry them in small batches on a slow flame till they become golden brown. Remove them on kitchen paper for excess oil to come out. Cool, store them in an airtight container / ziplockbag & use as & when required.

Crispy Fried Onions keep good upto 6 months in an airtight container or a ziplock bag in the freezer.
