Tapioca or Boba Pearls are small chewy balls made from Tapioca starch. These are used in the most popular Bubble Tea. And making this from scratch gives one a control over the exact measurements and the process of making them right. Typically these are translucent and White in colour, but nowadays different colours are being used. Milk Tea with Boba Pearls was first made in Taiwan in 1980's. Introduction of these Pearls in Tea was something that kicked off well and people loved it.

Tapioca Pearls are made of starchy Carbohydrates and are dense. They have almost zero nutritive value but still there is no harm in moderate consumption. But see to it that these are freshly made at home. In this plain Bubble Tea, I have made use of White Sugar.
Enjoy it super chilled on any day. You will love it's flavour and aroma along with the chewy nature of these little beauties or pearls in every single sip of your delicious drink.

Steps

10-15 minutes
  1. 1

Make your milk tea as you would love it. Add all the first four ingredients to a pan and bring it to a rolling boil on a high heat at first. Lower the heat now and simmer for the next 3-4 minutes. That's it. Using a strainer, sieve it into a serving cup or a glass. Set aside. Let it cool down.

  2. 2

For the assembling part, add the tapioca pearls at the bottom of a long serving glass. Add ice-cubes on top of it as desired. And finally fill it up with the prepared milk tea. Stir and start sipping.

  3. 3

Serve it super chilled. Happy Sipping!

Homemaker by choice and a passionate cook by heart. An aspiring cook who actually never knew anything about Cooking until i became a mother myself. With Motherhood came the responsibilities as well and this was the turning point in my life.I started to learn the ABC's of cooking, taking help from my mother and my MIL. And time just flew. I spread my wings higher and higher. With my love for excellence and innovation, i stepped into a world of homecooks with my exposure to Cookpad one fine day on the social media. And there was no looking back since then and i have not only shared recipes here on this wonderful platform but also have made some lovely friends as well. Today iam successful because of my hard work, dedication and loads of good wishes of my family and my kids in particular.
