Maggie's Munchies Mix

This is such an addictive snack! I'll choose salty savory snacks over sweets every time, and this is one of my all-time favorites. I'm not giving measurements for the munchies ingredients; just use what you prefer in your desired quantities. Mix them in a disposable turkey pan; the munchies sauce measurements will be enough to cover 1 large turkey roasting pan full of Munchies Mix. Admittedly, I spend $60 or more for all the ingredients, but it makes A LOT (2+ pans) and is SO worth it! Adjust your ingredients to suit your taste and budget.

Cooking Instructions

60 minutes
  1. 1

In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and stir in the Worcestershire. Heat for 2 to 3 minutes.

  2. 2

Mix together your munchies in a large, deep roasting pan (the size you'the cook a turkey in). Pour the sauce over all. Sprinkle with garlic powder (to taste). Mix and toss well using a rubber spatula to coat all the munchies as well as possible.

  3. 3

Sprinkle a lot of parmesan over the top. Toss with spatula to distribute. Repeat. Place in preheated 250°F oven.

  4. 4

Bake for 60 minutes, stirring every 20 minutes being sure to scoop and toss pieces all the way from the bottom of the pan. When stirring, I sometimes add more parmesan, depending on how it looks.

  5. 5

Allow to cool completely. I toss/stir while it's cooling to help heat/steam escape from the middle so nothing gets soggy. Or you can pour it back and forth between 2 empty pans to help cooling without steam condensation. Store in zip-top bags or airtight container.

My 5 siblings and I were raised in the 1950s and 60s midwest by a major foodie dad who was a great cook. We all learned to cook at a young age. I love to cook for my 2 daughters, 7 grandkids, 8 great-grandkids, and extended family. My 4 year old great-grandson makes my day when he says "Nan sure is a good cooker!". :-). I'm trying to get all my favorite recipes saved here so my family and friends all have easy access to them even after I'm gone. My Cookpad collection is their inheritance, so I try to add my comments and memories to each recipe; that way they'll remember me with a smile when they use the recipes years from now. Recently I've called on my grandkids (all adults and avid cooks) to send me their own favorite recipes, with their prep photos, so we can collect everyone's favorites together in one place.
