Ingredients

  • 1 cupbasmati rice 🍚
  • 1 tbspginger garlic paste 🧄
  • 1 tbspgreen chillies paste
  • 1large onion finely chopped 🧅
  • 2-3 tbsppeas 🫛
  • 2carrots 🥕 cut into cubes
  • 2potatoes cut into halves 🥔
  • 1/2 tspcumin seeds
  • 4small cardamom
  • 1bay leaf 🍂
  • 2whole cinnamon sticks
  • 1star anise
  • 1 tspcinnamon & cardamom powder
  • 1 tspcoriander cumin powder
  • 2 tbspdry rose petals 🌹
  • 1/2 tspblack pepper powder
  • 2 tbsprose water 🌹💦
  • A fewdrops of kewra water
  • A fewmint leaves 🌱
  • 1-2 tbspwhole / sliced almonds fried
  • 2 tbspghee
  • 1-2 tbspbutter
  • 3-4 tbspoil
  • Salt to taste 🧂
  • 2 cupswater💦
  • Aluminum foil

  1. 1

    In a frying pan add ghee, and fry whole/ sliced almonds till golden, keep aside. Mix rose water with kewra water and keep aside, soak rice for 20 mins, set aside. Heat oil and add whole spices ( cumin seeds, small cardamoms, star anise, bay leaf 🍂, cinnamon sticks, cloves cook for 1 min.

    Add finely chopped onions 🧅saute till pinkish in colour, add ginger garlic paste 🧄, saute for 1 min, add green chillies paste mix well, add all the vegetables (peas 🫛, carrots 🥕, potatoes 🥔) and saute for 3 mins, add coriander cumin powder, cinnamon & cardamom powder, black pepper powder and mix well.

    Add rice 🍚, salt 🧂and mix well, add dry rose petals 🌹, mint leaves 🌱, water 💦, butter and mix well, let it boil, when water is near dried out, add rose &kewra water mixture, cover with aluminum foil, all sides and cook for 15 mins on low medium heat, serve hot.

    Garnish with fried almonds, dry rose petals 🌹.
