This was my dad's favorite pie. If I ask if he wanted me to bake one, he would go straight to the kitchen and cut the apple's up.

Ingredients

8 servings
  1. 2deep dish pie crust- I preferred the Pillsbury crust in a box
  2. 6large gala apples sliced up
  3. 1 cupsugar mixed with 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  4. 2 Tbswater
  5. about 8 pats of butter

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

In one pie shell add apples. Apple's will be stacked very high because they will cook down!

  2. 2

On top of apples add water,

  3. 3

Sprinkle all but 1tsp sugar-cinnamon mix on top. If you prefer you can add more cinnamon, but not too much!

  4. 4

Take 5 pat of butter all around the top of the apples

  5. 5

Carefully flip 2nd crust on top. Connect by pinching around the edges

  6. 6

Take 3 pats butter and spread all over crust

  7. 7

    Sprinkle with tsp sugar-cinnamon mix

  8. 8

Preheat oven 375 degrees. Set pie on top on cookie sheet. Make 3 small slits on pie crust. Bake for 1 hour or until golden brown

  9. 9

Let it set for about an hour (if you can!) and the juice will naturally get thick!
