Daddy's apple pie

This was my dad's favorite pie. If I ask if he wanted me to bake one, he would go straight to the kitchen and cut the apple's up.

Cooking Instructions

In one pie shell add apples. Apple's will be stacked very high because they will cook down!
- 2
On top of apples add water,

Sprinkle all but 1tsp sugar-cinnamon mix on top. If you prefer you can add more cinnamon, but not too much!
- 4
Take 5 pat of butter all around the top of the apples
- 5
Carefully flip 2nd crust on top. Connect by pinching around the edges
- 6
Take 3 pats butter and spread all over crust
- 7
Sprinkle with tsp sugar-cinnamon mix
- 8
Preheat oven 375 degrees. Set pie on top on cookie sheet. Make 3 small slits on pie crust. Bake for 1 hour or until golden brown
- 9
Let it set for about an hour (if you can!) and the juice will naturally get thick!

My Apple Pie My Apple Pie
Now that it's getting colder, it's the season for pie. And when I think of Jonathan apples that means one thing, apple pie. I'm not very good at using normal flaky pastry and the apples get soggy, so I always bake the apples first and make the pie like this.If the pastry becomes too soft while carrying out these steps then please continue doing them while chilling the pastry in the fridge. The amount of apples you will need will change according to the size of the pie and apples. This pie isn't so sweet, so please adjust the sugar amount to make it sweeter if you wish. Mom’s apple pie Mom’s apple pie
Finding this recipe was like being a kid on Christmas morning. I recently made it for my mother in law’s birthday, after finding the recipe handwritten by my dad, in the back of my moms old recipe book. This book is a memory, as is seeing anything in my dads handwriting. This was my dads favorite dessert, and bringing it to life again is as exciting as it gets. I hope you find as much joy in making (and eating) it as I did. Julia Morgan -
