Almond Milk (Beverage)

I had some almonds that were gifted to me, so I decided to make almond milk. The result was amazing. It was very easy to prepare and I loved it (I think my days of buying plant-based milks are over).
Almond Milk (Beverage)
I had some almonds that were gifted to me, so I decided to make almond milk. The result was amazing. It was very easy to prepare and I loved it (I think my days of buying plant-based milks are over).
Steps
- 1
If your almonds have skins, peel them first. You can skip this step if you buy blanched almonds. Soak the almonds in water overnight.
- 2
The next day, drain and rinse the almonds. Blend them with 4 1/4 cups water (1 liter). Add a little cinnamon if you like (optional).
- 3
Strain the mixture using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth.
- 4
The resulting almond milk is ready to serve. You can reuse the leftover pulp to make almond flour; I froze mine to use later.
- 5
Store the almond milk in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3 to 5 days (since it’s natural and has no preservatives).
