Soak lobia for overnight. Wash it and boil it. To prepare gravy, take onion, tomato and garlic. Grind it. In the pan, add oil. Add asafoetida.

Add grounded gravy. Saute on low flame. Once oil start to come out, add red chilli powder, turmeric and salt. Continue to soute.

Add boiled lobia. Mix it well and continue to cook on low flame. Serve hot with chapati.
