Pork Tenderloin Steak with Onion Sauce

This steak is tender and full of flavor. The sauce makes it easy to enjoy lots of cabbage, too. On March 1, 2008, this recipe became popular. Thank you to everyone who has made it! The origin of this recipe: I found a recipe in a cooking magazine that involved marinating beef in grated onion, so I thought it might work with pork too. I made some adjustments to the marinade and created this version.

This is an abbreviated version of Chaliapin steak (a steak marinated in onions, a Japanese western-style dish). The sautéed onions form the base of the sauce, so sauté them slowly and patiently, taking care not to let them burn.As long as the onions are well sautéed, you can make a delicious sauce with just water, without needing any wine or sake. To prepare this recipe I chose a special selection beer made with real pumpkin and spices, it seemed a very appropriate beer for this special time of the year, I combined it with a side of baked squash topped with Parmesan cheese. The bitter touch of the beer made with the real pumpkin and spices mixed with the cream achieve a very tasty sauce that combines perfectly with the sweet of the squash side. The indescribable aroma in my kitchen no less than the delicious flavor made this recipe a Rosanas Ideas -

Pork tenderloin with orange and fennel sauce Pork tenderloin with orange and fennel sauce
Pork tenderloin is a great ingredient. It's inexpensive, so it doesn't blow up your grocery budget (not a small thing these days). One or two loins easily satisfies several people. And, cooked properly, it's a succulent and juicy cut of meat. It also has a relatively neutral flavour, which means you can jazz it up pretty much any way you want. Spices, herbs, and fruit all work. I chose the latter two for this dish, and made a glaze/sauce from everyday orange juice spiked with a spoonful of fennel seeds. Sweet, tangy, with a slight herbal warmth. Nice. Robert Gonzal -

Tonight's dinner was quick and easy, and came out well enough that I thought it was worth sharing. As usual, quantities and cooking times are after-the-fact estimates. Also, please be sure to cook your pork thoroughly and please taste the sauce throughout so you can adjust to your preferences. If anyone is interested, I served this with a small side of tomato with balsamic and fresh parsley (pictured above) and roast cauliflower (not in the picture). Jon -
