Tuna, Mayo & Gochujang Onigiri Ver.1
Thank you for making this recipe popular on 10/4/2010! This is an easy Korean-style rice ball. Recipe background: I tried to recreate a flavor I remember from Korean convenience store onigiri.
Steps
- 1
Drain the tuna well and mix it with mayonnaise and gochujang. Season with salt to taste.
- 2
Once the rice is cooked, mix in the sesame oil.
- 3
Use the tuna mixture as filling and shape the rice into onigiri (rice balls). Wrap with nori to finish!
- 4
Tip: Using plastic wrap helps shape the onigiri neatly. You can mix the salt into the rice with the sesame oil, or sprinkle it on at the end—either way works!
- 5
- 6
A user named kapisuke tried both versions and said the sesame oil matches especially well with the gochujang.
- 7
Many others also used sesame oil, so I made it an official part of the recipe. Thank you all!
