Ingredients

Makes enough for a small family of 4 servings
  1. About 2 cups (360 ml) cooked rice (about 360 grams)
  2. as neededNori (seaweed),
  3. 2 slicessliced cheese
  4. Your favorite fillings, such as pickled plum (umeboshi), salmon, or kelp

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

For kids, shape the rice balls to about the size of a large egg. For adults, make them the size of a regular onigiri, shaping them into balls.

  2. 2

Wrap the rice balls with nori, then use plastic wrap to help the nori stick and set. Cut the cheese into circles and use nori to make the eyes. Assemble to finish!

  3. 3

Use a straw to cut out the eyes! If you don't have a nori punch, this is a handy trick.

  4. 4

Tips

ほんのり温かいうちにのりを巻いて、ラップで巻いてなじませておくと綺麗な丸になります!
