Peel the onion and cut into quarters.

Place the onion in a microwave-safe container. Pour in the water and sprinkle on the consommé bouillon powder.

Loosely cover it with plastic wrap, microwave it at 600W for 5 minutes. Top it with sliced cheese, and microwave it without plastic wrap for 30 seconds and it's done!

It's delicious without the cheese, too. If you're making it without cheese, cover the container with plastic wrap and microwave it for 5 minutes and 30 seconds.
