Steps
- 1
My gyoza recipe has been featured in a recipe book.
This wrapping method is also included. - 2

Here, I'm using slightly larger wrappers.
Although shown in the photo, all the following steps are done in your hand. - 4
First, place the filling in the center of the wrapper, wet the edge of the far half, and pinch the center to seal about 1/4 inch. Leave the ends open.
- 5
Hold the open edge of the wrapper and bring it towards the center, attaching it to the front edge.
- 6
Repeat the same process.
- 7
Do this three times in total.
- 8
Next, fold the opposite side towards the center, starting from the side closest to the center.
Right-handed people might find the left side a bit tricky. - 9
Press the top edge firmly several times to finish.
- 10
For larger wrappers, make four pleats on each side.
- 11
Depending on the ingredients, moisture may accumulate on the plate, so if you're leaving them for a while before cooking, it's best to place them on parchment paper.
