Stuffed Peppers with Meat

Because I love spicy food, my mom used to make this for me at home. It's perfect with rice or as a side with drinks. A few days ago, I passed by the market after work and saw some bullhorn peppers, so I bought some to make this dish again. Tip: I strongly recommend wearing gloves when handling peppers. I once forgot to wear gloves, and not only did my hands hurt for two days, but I also accidentally got spice in my nose.

Steps

30 minutes
  1. 1

Wash the peppers thoroughly, remove the tops, and clean out the seeds. *I use a chopstick to poke inside and twist around to remove the seeds.

  2. 2

Mix the ground pork, egg, and salt together for seasoning.

  3. 3

Slowly stuff the meat into the peppers. *I put the ground pork in a clean plastic bag, cut a small opening, and squeeze it in slowly.

  4. 4

Heat a pan, add some oil, and lay the stuffed peppers flat in the pan. Cook until the peppers soften slightly.

  5. 5

Add soy sauce, water, and cooking wine to the pan, and a bit of sugar for flavor. Simmer until the sauce starts to reduce, then remove from heat.
