Super Delicious! Shijimi Clam Miso Soup

I make this by steaming the clams with sake first. Eating the clam meat can be a bit of work, but it's delicious and good for you, so I make it often.

A fishmonger taught me how to prep and freeze shijimi clams, which made my miso soup even tastier.

Steps
- 1
Place the shijimi clams (frozen if possible) and sake in a pot. Cover and steam over high heat. For reference, see Recipe ID:20579404.
- 2
Once the clams open, add the water and bring to a simmer over medium heat.
- 3
Reduce to low heat, dissolve in the miso, and it's ready! The clams release a delicious broth, so you don't need any additional stock.
