Ingredients

25 minutes
3 servings
  1. 250 gramred poha
  2. 1/2 cupmakhana
  3. 1/2 cupsprouted green gram seeds
  4. 2 Tbspvegetable oil
  5. 1 Tspcumin seeds
  6. 1onion sliced
  7. 2whole green chilli
  8. 1dry red chilli
  9. 1 handfulcurry leaves
  10. 1 Tspsplit urad dal
  11. 1 Tbsproasted chana daal
  12. 1small potato cut into chunks
  13. 1/4 Tspturmeric powder
  14. 3/4 Tspsalt
  15. 1/2 Tbspjaggery powder
  16. 1/3 Tspdry ginger powder
  17. 1/3 Tspblack pepper powder
  18. 1 TbspSambhar masala powder
  19. 2 Tsppomegranate arils to garnish

Steps

25 minutes
  1. 1

    Roast the Makhana till crispy on low flame with 1 Tsp vegetable oil. Wash red poha to remove the impurities.

    Arrange the required ingredients.

    Heat rest of oil and splutter cumin seeds. Add sliced onions and saute on low flame till transparent.

    Add urad daal and red chilli. Saute for half a minute. Add chopped potato chunks and saute till done on low flame. Add curry leaves, the green chilli, sprouts, roasted peanuts and roasted chana daal. Mix well and saute on low flame for 1 minute.

    Then add salt, jaggery powder and turmeric powder. Mix well everything. Now add the soaked red poha and again mix well

    Add half of crushed makhana, 1/3 Tsp black pepper powder and 1/3 Tsp dry ginger powder and Sambhar masala powder and mix well with the soaked red poha.

    Transfer the cooked Masala Red Poha to a serving plate, garnish with pomegranate arils and serve hot or as per taste. Thanks
