Steps

Grease an 8 inch cake tin and keep ready. Pre-heat oven to 180°C.. Whip the egg whites, sugar into glossy meringue with stiff peaks. This is the secret to nice tall and light cake.

Add the yolks one by one to the beaten eggs and mix gently.

When the yolk is mixed well, add the flour little by little in the sieve and slowly mix the flour.

Transfer grease cake tin and line the bottom with a parchment paper.. Smooth the surface and place it into a preheated oven at 180C for 45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.

Remove cake from the oven and leave to cool (2 to 5 minutes), remove from the tin and place on a cooling rack. Slice and serve.
