These are fritters made with figs wrapped in speck and dipped in batter—a delicious, quick, and easy appetizer.
Steps

Get all the ingredients ready. In a mixing bowl, pour in the cold water and gradually whisk in the flour until you have a smooth batter.

Cut the figs into wedges and wrap each wedge with a slice of speck. Secure with a toothpick.

Dip each wrapped fig into the batter, then carefully place it into hot (but not boiling) oil.

Fry on both sides for about 3 minutes, then drain on paper towels.

Remove the toothpicks and arrange the fritters on a plate.

Serve and enjoy—they’ll be gone before you know it!
