An easy one pot dish for any day with Broccoli and Knol Khol. This Vegetarian dish can be relished with both Rice and Rotis. Made with easily available pantry staples, this is one of the most popular dish in my house. This is a way too lot flavourful and aromatic plus a delicious comfort food by all means.
Though the preparation or the making process is so simple, what matters ultimately is the taste. And it does taste yum. And with some freshly cut Broccoli Greens/florets added, you are rest assured about the flavour too. The best part is that it gets done quickly too. Absolutely delicious to the last bite. This dish is for keepsake. You will love it every bit and would want to make it more and more. At least once a Week or even twice if desired.
This is a lovely tiffin box idea too. And is a perfect combination too. Simple pantry staples and readily available ingredients go into making this lip-smacking Veg dish.

Enjoy Cooking with Zeen!

Steps

25-30 minutes
  1. 1

In a pan, heat some oil and add the ginger garlic paste. Fry it for a few seconds and then add in the asafoetida. Now add chopped onions too. Saute these on a low heat until done. Now add the cubed knol khol or ganth gobi. Also add the rest of the powdered spices too. Give them all a proper mix.

  2. 2

Cover and cook on a low flame for 15-18 minutes. Do not add too much of water. Add a little to facilitate easy cooking of them if required or can pressure cook too. I added just a little of it. It will be done very easily. If desired cook it for a little longer duration if you prefer it to be too soft. Otherwise, it is done in just about 15 minutes in all.

  3. 3

Just as the Knol Khol or the Kohlrabi is done, add in the broccoli florets. Cover and cook just for about 4-5 minutes more so that it soaks in the flavours. Do not over cook it and retain it's crunch. Adjust salt as needed.

Homemaker by choice and a passionate cook by heart. An aspiring cook who actually never knew anything about Cooking until i became a mother myself. With Motherhood came the responsibilities as well and this was the turning point in my life.I started to learn the ABC's of cooking, taking help from my mother and my MIL. And time just flew. I spread my wings higher and higher. With my love for excellence and innovation, i stepped into a world of homecooks with my exposure to Cookpad one fine day on the social media. And there was no looking back since then and i have not only shared recipes here on this wonderful platform but also have made some lovely friends as well. Today iam successful because of my hard work, dedication and loads of good wishes of my family and my kids in particular.
