Smear the Ilish Maach (Hilsha fish) pieces with salt and 1 tsp pepper powder and set aside for 10 minutes.

Now heat butter in a pan.

When the butter melts, add the slit green chillies.

Now add the Ilish Maach (Hilsha fish) pieces in the pan.

Keep the flame low and cook the Ilish Maach (Hilsha fish) pieces by turning and cooking them till it slightly changes colour.Do not deep fry.

Now add the milk in the same pan.

After 5 minutes add the fresh cream.

Add the salt and remaining pepper powder.

Now cover with a lid and cook on medium heat for another 5 minutes.

After 5 minutes remove from the stove and serve hot with steamed white rice.
