Apple Agar Jelly

This jelly is made with 100% Apple Juice and stewed Apple slices. You only need to add a small amount of Sugar OR add No Sugar at all if you prefer. Using canned Apple slices, it is quick and easy to make. This is a refreshing dessert that can be very healthy. You can make this Jelly with Lemon flavoured Syrup, but you need to add fair bit of Sugar. I like to use 100% Apple Juice and it is sweet enough for me.

Steps

5 minutes plus cooling time
  1. 1

Drain canned Apple Slices. If you use fresh Apples, peel, remove core, cut into slices OR bite-size pieces, and cook with a little bit of Sugar until soft.

  2. 2

Place Agar Agar Powder, Apple Juice and Sugar (if you add it) in a saucepan, and mix well. Bring to the boil over medium heat, stirring frequently. Once it is boiling, remove from heat.

  3. 3

*Water & Lemon Juice: You can make this dessert with 2 cups Water and 2 tablespoons Lemon Juice. In that case, you need to add 4 to 6 tablespoons Sugar. You can add 1 tablespoon Red Wine to colour it.

  4. 4

Place drained Apple Slices in a container, jelly mould(s) OR serving glasses, then pour the Jelly mixture. When cool enough, leave in the fridge until set. Cut into a serving size if large.
