Rinse the fava beans and soak them in warm water overnight.

Rinse the chickpeas, split fava beans, and wheat berries, then soak them in hot water overnight.

In the morning, drain the soaking water. Add the lentils, grated carrot, and whole lemons. Cover with hot water in a large pot for stewing beans. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to very low and simmer until everything is tender. Add more hot water if needed during cooking.

Serve warm. You can portion the beans into bags and freeze for later use.
