Prepare the ingredients, black sesame oil, and rice wine.

Peel and slice the ginger.

Heat a pot and add the black sesame oil. Sauté the ginger slices until fragrant.

Continue cooking until the ginger slices look dry and slightly shriveled.

Rinse and pat dry the chicken drumsticks, then cut them into bite-sized pieces.

Add the chicken pieces to the pot and stir-fry with the ginger and sesame oil.

Cook until the chicken is about halfway done.

Pour in 2 cups of rice wine and add the red dates and goji berries. Simmer the chicken.

Cover the pot and cook for about 1 hour.

* Using pure rice wine makes the soup richer and more flavorful.
