If you are fond of spicy food , do try this fiery hot amti . This amti pairs very well with Puan poli, ( sweet flat bread) another Maharashtrian dish that balances very well with it .

Boiling hara chana : Heat water in a saucepan. Add hara chana & salt. Cook for 5 minutes. Keep aside to cool.

Drain the water from hara chana & do not throw away the water. Grind cooked hara chanea to a coarse paste. Keep both paste & water separate.

Fry the green chillies. Keep aside.

Green paste : In a small mixer jar, add garlic, fried green chillies, peppercorns, dry coconut & coriander using 1/2 cup water to make a coarse paste. Our Zanzanit paste is ready. Keep aside.

Amti : Take oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, let them splutter. Add cumin seeds crushed garlic, cloves & curry leaves. Saute till the raw smell of the garlic goes away.

Add hara chana paste & water that was kept aside. Add 1 glass of more water. Add salt. Cover & boil for 10 minutes.

Remove in a serving bowl & garnish. Serve this Zanzanit Solyanchi Amti with bhakri or steamed rice.
